Residential Recycling Guidelines
Recyclable Papers:
| Newspapers | Brochures |
| Magazines | Catalogs (2 inches or less) |
| White Paper | Junk Mail |
| Colored Paper | Phone Books |
| Computer Paper | Paper Bags |
| File Folders | Soft Cover Books |
| Cereal Boxes | Cardboard |
Do Not Bag Recyclables
No napkins, paper towels, tissue, paper plates or waxed material (these items will go into trash).
Please do not put anything in bags. Please keep clean and dry if possible. Thank you.
Recyclable Plastics:
#1-#7 Plastics
- No grocery or sandwich bags, 5 gallon buckets, caps, or lids.
- No used needles should be put in plastic containers.
- Please do not bag recyclables.
Recyclable Glass:
Clear, brown, and green glass containers
- No ceramic or porcelain cups and plates
- No drinking glasses or stemware
- No heat resistant ovenware
- No light bulbs, mirrors, or window panes
- Please do not bag recyclables
Recyclable Metals
Aluminum and steel cans
- No pie pans or foil
- No cans that have contained hazardous waste
- Please do not bag recyclables.
Items Not Allowed in the Landfill
These Items Must be Disposed of Privately:
- Used Oil
- Yard Trash: grass clippings, dirt, tree limbs, etc.
- White goods: washers, dryers, stoves, etc.
- Antifreeze
- Tires
- Lead-acid Batteries
- Aluminum Cans (these will be recycled)
- Beverage Containers coming from ABC permitted businesses (these will be recycled)
- Oyster Shells
- Wooden Pallets (all wood)
- Motor Vehicle Oil Filters
- Plastic Containers (these will be recycled)
- Concrete, Sheetrock, etc. (any building materials)
- Electronics (T.V.s, computers, printers, etc)
